Rubber & Plastic Playground Border Materials Borders are often used in playground construction to contain loose fill surfacing when playground equipment is installed above the existing grade.   Good Alternatives to Wooden Borders  Wooden borders can be built, however, we offer some alternatives to wood that are easily installed, can be moved if necessary, have greater longevity and usually cost less considering there is less labor involved.   Molded Plastic and Molded Shredded Rubber Borders We have molded plastic borders available that dove tail together and are held in place with a steel stake.   We also have a molded shredded rubber curbing that works well as borders to trike tracks and which can be used as a low border for an excavated area.
